On January 25, 2019, a disaster involving the tailings dam of an iron ore-bearing and processing plant in Brumadinho (Minas Gerais, Brazil) killed 272 people. The families of the victims have created an association called AVABRUM to pursue compensation related to the rights of the bereaved. One of the compensation measures is the establishment of memorials to commemorate the dead and warn future generations to avoid similar tragedies. The project uses architecture, design and typeface to confront individuals with irrefutable evidence of reality.
