Product overview: Hoop tries to challenge our understanding of the common product in industrial design-chandeliers. It combines this goal with a personal interest in the intersection of art, design and craft. Hoop doesn't try to put itself into a single category. On the contrary, it recognizes the characteristics of each person. At the same time, it also combines the seemingly opposite elements of standardized mass production with individuality.
Hoop recognizes the huge difference between the electrostatic quality of light bulbs and the nature of natural daylight flow. It consists of a modular frame and a halo-two three-dimensional printed ring decorations of different sizes, and three wooden frames of different lengths. This simple system is suitable for many combination variants to adapt to various indoor environments. The movement of the shouting circle is based on the air flow in the room, whether it is natural ventilation, air conditioning or people passing. This animated state is a sympathetic metaphor for changing natural light.
During the day, the shouting circle is not obviously light, and its function is gradually replaced by a sculptural existence. At night, its main function is to emit dynamic light, not electrostatic light. Hoop strives to be sensitive to the features it offers, thereby creating a deeper empathic connection with the people and spaces it serves.
