2022 MOVIN'ON CHALLENGE DESGIGN (formerly Michelin Design Challenge)-Jury Award
The Hakka people are one of the Han ethnic groups with a long history in China. The Hakka Tulou is a large-scale group building house that the Hakka people have inherited and thrived from generation to generation. The most distinctive building in the Tulou complex is the round building, which generally starts at the center of a circle and unfolds out layer by layer according to different radii, like water waves in a lake, with rings and rings, which is very spectacular.
In 2035, with the process of urbanization, including the interconnection of urbanization and the development of large-scale rail transit, the area of the Hakka circular earth building has become larger and larger, and it has become a local landmark building with all kinds of living facilities. At the same time, it has also become a large local earth building community. Due to the huge diameter of the circular earth building, it is not convenient for people to flow between the same floors. So it is matched with more advanced orbital technology to solve this problem. In terms of orbital technology, it also cooperates with the circular cockpit to form a mobile facility that integrates riding and sightseeing. The purpose is to provide users with an exciting riding experience.
There are exclusive rides between each floor. After reaching the designated position, the entrance of the circular cockpit gradually opens from the middle to both sides, waiting for the user to enter the cockpit. The entrance is closed and the seats on both sides move closer to the middle to form a complete seat. In line with the Hakka tea culture, the concept of "mobile tea room" has been formed as a whole, and the cockpit has been refined into tea drinking areas and sightseeing areas. In terms of modeling, a large area uses curves to surround the wrapped surface for multi-level integration, and the interior also uses circular elements to echo the circular concept many times, bringing users a very impressive modeling design.
