Connect Local is a public service design platform led by the Ulsan Port Authority to re-establish the link between children and a remote port town. In Jianglingpu, sandwiched between heavy industrial areas, children have few safe places to go after school, and their peer networks are also very limited, which exacerbates their negative views of their hometown. UPA-DONG transform UPA's expertise, facilities and real port operations into an open hub: open space, U-KIDS social exchange and experiential port-industry learning. By meeting new people, hosting visitors and proudly exploring their port, children are able to build lasting bonds and regain a new sense of the land. The project aims to achieve scale development
