At the beginning of the project, we chose the mainstream visual style of the market to design the product appearance, aiming to reduce the cognitive cost of users through mature design language. However, Party A was not satisfied with this and raised a sharp question: "If you are the same as other manufacturers, you can just find someone to copy it directly. Why do you want to do industrial design?"
Although this sentence is not completely equivalent to the original intention of the design, it does wake me up. The value of industrial design should not stop at following the "mainstream optimal solution"-although mainstream styles often have comprehensive advantages in terms of scene adaptation, target user preferences, manufacturing process maturity, and cost control. But one thousand people, it is difficult to leave a name. How to make a truly recognizable and kernel design under the premise of meeting these realistic constraints becomes the next question we need to answer.
In the second proposal, we established the design theme of "extreme function externalization. The core of this concept is to make the core competence of the product visible. Combined with the design trend of "operation visualization" and "interaction visualization" of current functional products, the introduction of extreme cutting visual language makes the product form show a strong sense of order and professionalism. At the same time, we emphasize the unique high-definition video detection mode of the product through an independent and externalized key form-not only clarifying the operation path of the core function, but also establishing distinct identification features in a group of similar products.
