The tomb beast is composed of a wooden seat, a beast body, and a pair of big antlers. The base and the animal body are carved from whole wood. The square base is embossed with square patterns, and the animal body is directly inserted into the tenon hole in the middle of the base. The beast's head is embossed, the beast's eyes are raised, the beast's eyebrows are cloud-shaped, grinning, and the mouth spits long tongue; the beast's neck is curved; the beast's body is painted with black paint, and the moire and geometric patterns are depicted with red paint. A pair of antlers are inserted on both sides of the animal's head, and the branches that open outward not only show majesty, but also imply reproduction and regeneration. The tomb beast in this town is mysterious and fully embodies the characteristics of Chu culture.
