ROTOR "Rotor" Candlestick
Customer: HUMASIM Hippo Forest
Partner: SHUO LV
ROTOR is for the HUMASIM "Design Peer" program. On the one hand, the "Design Peer" program cooperates with well-known designers, and on the other hand, it cooperates with future designers who are still in the student stage. Hippo Forest funds to implement high-quality ideas into products. ROTOR belongs to the latter type.
ROTOR's creative source was a sophomore in the Department of Visual Communication. He proposed that "Generally speaking, candlesticks should have a stable-looking appearance. Can they make a kind of" unstable stability "? This idea originated from his" whim "when he discovered the top of his childhood toy during the process of sorting the room".
Starting from this concept, ROTOR is shaped as a "non-falling top". Its main outline is clear and sharp. It reflects the "instability" in the original creativity in the way of constructing a "sense of arrival". It also emphasizes its "stability" with the unity and balance of the main structure. With the spiral texture, it makes the main body of the product more dynamic and at the same time attracts the visual focus to the lighted candlelight.
As a more reliable "backup solution", ROTOR also comes with a base that fully fits the bottom curve of the main body. Although the stability of ROTOR main body has been verified in the reliability test, the increase of this base can bring more diverse use experience and more reliable psychological feelings to some users.
