I completed the early design orientation with my boss, and then independently made the concept and appearance design, and then finished the product structure design together (I became a monk halfway to make the structure, and I was in a panic). After that, the boss's Porsche went all over the south of the Yangtze River to find suppliers. Well, Porsche is really fragrant. Limited by experience, the road to mass production encountered all kinds of difficulties and obstacles, stop and go all the way. Until last year, the old employer apo suddenly said that the product was on the market in mass production, and incidentally brought a red star award. then this year, the company applied for an IF to try and won the IF gold award in 2021, which was a fluke.


Design Point 1: Starting from Pain Point
It is a very common phenomenon that consumers are used to putting rice cookers in the kitchen to cook. After the rice is ready, they like to carry the rice cookers from the kitchen to the dining table. The reason behind this is that users do not need to constantly rush back and forth between the dining table and the kitchen when they serve food. At the same time, if it is soup or the like, the problem of not keeping the inner container or soup bowl warm is also avoided. However, there are some pain points behind this phenomenon that are easy to be ignored. Users need to unplug the power cord constantly every time they carry the rice cooker. At the same time, the handle design is unreasonable and the movement is troublesome. In addition, because the kitchen in China is a heavy oil smoke area, it is easy to produce grease on the power cord, so it is very uncomfortable to unplug the wire every time. Therefore, we think about whether we can use this as the starting point for design and redesign the new rice cooker with the pain point to make the rice cooker more friendly to people. Therefore, we cross the border and introduce the concept of kettle chassis.

Design Point 2: Starting from User Experience
At the same time, we seek to make a breakthrough in the way of interaction, to inject some freshness into the rice cooker industry with serious homogeneity, and at the same time, the form follows the function. We think about whether we can give more functions to the handle of the rice cooker, so that it has the characteristics of functionality, aesthetics and recognition. Therefore, I boldly placed the control area on the handle. When the handle is completely down, I go to sleep mode. When the handle is erected, I "drop" and the breathing light flashes and enters the standby state.
