On November 6, 2019, the Red Dot Design Museum Xiamen, together with Haisi Art Center, an important national high-end art design trading platform, opened ceremoniously, and the 2018 winning works were also unveiled in this exhibition. As part of the service of CGD contemporary good design winners, the venue of this exhibition is the Hess Art Center Xiyuan Building, which is near Xiamen Airport and has a world-class environment, creating conditions for excellent works to reach the high-end art design collection group and helping good design to connect the market and consumers.

"CGD Contemporary Good Design" Award Winning Works Tour Exhibition

As one of the stops of the global tour, this exhibition contains a total of 38 works including the 2018 "CGD Contemporary Good Design" award, aiming to explore the source of inspiration for Chinese designers through living habits, deep cultivation of traditional culture. From artificial intelligence baby care robots to well-formed meditation seats, these industrial products cover a wide range of household products. Although these products are different, they all reflect a common feature of contemporary Chinese design culture-the integration of Eastern life philosophy and Western design concepts.

The theme of this exhibition is the description of human behavior in traditional Chinese culture such as "Zen, habitat, action, and rest", and explores the new power of Chinese design today. The log mobile phone loudspeaker designed by "originally designed" uses the physical structure of logs to make a sound resonance cavity, so that the music played on the mobile phone is amplified by the physical resonance cavity without electricity. As long as we easily play the mobile phone into the loudspeaker seat, we can easily play music and watch videos anytime and anywhere. And it is not only a loudspeaker but also a mobile phone holder, which is simple, practical and beautiful, and makes people fondle admiringly. Starting from the function, the combination of modern science and technology with traditional materials and Chinese aesthetics perfectly interprets people's pursuit and expression of design culture today.

The participation of artificial intelligence in human life is an irreversible trend. Although many people still have doubts about it, no one doubts that technology has changed our way of life and enriched our life. 360 children's robot "Buddy" has implanted AI artificial intelligence technology into it. Its round shape and soft and cute eyes make it more friendly. This elf-like intelligent robot focuses on the concept of "growth partner" and has functions such as voice wake-up, intelligent snapshot, social media sharing and video phone chat to help broaden the communication methods between parents and children.

Each of the award-winning works here is the result of a reinterpretation of the designer's efforts to delve into the functions and materials of tea ceremony tools. Perhaps these designers understand that for the general public, tea has already become a spiritual medicine that people must drink every day. It is a daily ritual and a philosophy of life.

About "CGD Contemporary Good Design" Award
The "CGD Contemporary Good Design" award was co-founded by German Red Dot Agency and Xiamen Media Group in 2015. It aims to select good designs for contemporary society and expects to provide the best service to the winners. Red Dot uses more than 60 years of international top design awards operation experience and design resources to ensure the professionalism, seriousness and authority of the "Contemporary Good Design" award.

Compared with the Red Dot Design Museum · Essen as the main support of the Red Dot Product Design Award and the Red Dot Brand and Communication Design Award, the Red Dot Design Museum · Singapore as the main support of the Red Dot Design Concept Award, the Red Dot Design Museum · Xiamen As the main support of the Contemporary Good Design Award, including the establishment of a CGD permanent exhibition area and the provision of winner services. CGD, founded in 2015, has been successfully held for four consecutive times, and has received more than 10,000 works from more than 30 countries and regions around the world. In 2019, the CGD Award category was increased to 49 categories, including the new packaging design category. Haisi Art Center · Xiyuan Building

Haisi Art Center is wholly owned by Xiamen Xiangye Group, a large state-owned enterprise, and is located close to the Red Dot Design Museum. Including "one library, three centers, one store and one square", namely Xiyuan Building, ancient and modern art center, contemporary art creative center, art trading center, art bonded warehouse, Baixiang Kunshuo Hotel, and Haisi Culture Square. Among them, the Xiyuan Building of the ancient and modern art center was designed by Master Zhou Kai, the winner of the "Liang Sicheng Architecture Award". The style of the Minnan dacuo shows the beauty of "integration" and spreads the essence of Minnan art to the world. Haisi Art Center Xiyuan Building has developed an innovative "art" model that integrates guest platforms, social functions, taste consumption, presence experience, cultural creativity, training and education, and brings together contemporary art, Chinese and Western painting, traditional crafts, antique treasures, life aesthetics and cultural creativity.
