VITA is an autonomous first response drone designed to support emergency medical services (EMS) at the scene of a motor vehicle accident. It fills the critical time gap between the occurrence of an accident and the arrival of emergency services by providing immediate on-site support, improving early intervention and increasing the likelihood of patient outcomes.
The drone carries a compact first aid kit with an AED and trauma supplies. The dual-camera system provides real-time video to EMS dispatchers for remote assessment and faster decision-making. On-board AI assesses the situation on site, prioritizes actions, and supports first responders in transit, helping dispatchers bear the psychological burden and improve coordination. The front screen displays a reassuring digital face that communicates with the victim through visual instructions, emotional support and automated external defibrillator guidance.
VITA uses bladeless rotors to work safely near humans. The front and rear signal lights remind traffic, and the bottom LED lights improve visibility at night. The drone can operate for up to 60 minutes, after which it returns to the docking station for charging or battery replacement.
