When designing the office of Ally Logistic Property, we focused on how a space can encourage the exchange of knowledge and skills among different professionals, and how to motivate people to shape the enterprise culture with their creativity. The site has large windows allowing natural light in from two directions. Typically, in office design, the privileged views are given to those higher up in the organization. However, in this project, we proposed to share the natural light with the entire office, thus creating a bright and open space while still respecting human-scale and personalization. Small groups of workstations were placed in the center with breathing and casual meeting spaces in between. For the offices that required more acoustic privacy, we designed a floating light-box facing the windows and central workspace, in effect visually connecting the whole environment and allowing unrestrained access to the outside views for all. The transparent meeting room and gathering space is placed in the center to express the company's value in collaboration and honesty. This helps the efficiency of communication within the working space, as it diminishes the stress of hierarchy in the enterprise. In addition, we also replaced the traditional fluorescent lights with ambience pendants, which significantly reduce the discomfort of working long hours under the strong uniform light. We believe that the quality of life of the staff is the greatest asset of the enterprise. The integration of these elements allows the social movement among different talents in the company, also brings everyone together.
