In the center of Lankao Times Square, we use modern hollowing technology to abstract the complicated branches and flowers and leaves into flowing lines, so that the crown of the tree presents a paper-cut-like transparency in the sun. When the light passes through the hollow pattern, the ground is covered with fine and mottled "tree shadow flower light"-when the wind rises, the light and shadow seem to be really swaying with the wind. The material language of the mirror stainless steel makes every tree reflect the sky and the figure of pedestrians, and become a breathing mirror on the square. The ten sculptures are not simply copied, but arranged in a scattered and dense manner, echoing each other, forming an array of "ten miles of long streets full of flowers and trees. They are both standalone art installations and a cohesive spatial narrative.
The choice of the image of "tree" stems from the deep origin of Lankao and Paulownia. Paulownia trees are the spiritual symbol of Lankao, embodying resilience and enduring vitality. We let the steel tree grow upward, and the branches bloom with the image of blooming flowers. It is precisely in the hope that with the language of contemporary art, we can pay tribute to the fighting spirit of "dare to call the sun and the moon to change the sky" in this land, and also express the bright future of Times Square and even the whole city.
During the day, they are tall and straight silhouettes of the city's skyline. At night, lights light up from hollowed-out branches, like flowers blooming in the night sky. Ten trees, ten upward wishes, I hope everyone passing by can see their own growth under the tree.
