Rabigh 3 independent water plant in Saudi Arabia provides an effective, innovative and economical solution for countries and regions with deserts, which are plagued by water shortages even with abundant marine resources.
The project uses the most advanced SWRO seawater reverse osmosis technology. It mainly includes facilities such as substations, pumping stations with inlet and outlet water systems, pre-treatment, chemical dosing, post-treatment and reverse osmosis systems to ensure that residents' daily water resources are reliable. At the same time, as the world's largest single seawater desalination plant, equipped with a complete purification system, it can ensure sufficient daily water supply for more than 200 million residents of Jeddah and Mecca.
In addition to solving the problem of local water shortage, the project also pays full attention to people's livelihood and shows a strong sense of social responsibility. Thanks to the innovative management model and module design, the entire desalination process has achieved low energy consumption. One ton of pure water supply can be obtained for only $0.53, reducing the economic burden of residents. During construction and completion, nearly 3,500 jobs were created for local people, which helped to increase employment. Nearly 40% of the materials and equipment are provided by local people, bringing direct economic benefits of nearly $0.2 billion. This helps the development of the local economy and reduces maintenance costs to a certain extent.
