This time, the title of the project is the design of Zen cultural products. In order to better experience Zen, I practiced meditation in the temple for ten days and came up with some of my own opinions on Zen.
Zen is a process that gradually calms the heart, and it is also a result of final calmness. There is a method in the process of meditation called the method of observation, which aims to obtain an equal heart for different feelings by observing one's own breathing, so that the heart becomes more peaceful. Therefore, on the basis of this concept, a home atmosphere lamp is designed.

As the design of atmosphere lamps, the appearance is inspired by the most common food in life, so it is named "dish" series atmosphere lamp design. The familiar and simple shape reduces the strangeness and excessive decoration, and the utensils are also intended to be tolerant, which corresponds to the existence of tolerance in the concept of Zen. In China, where food is the most important thing for the people, this form is endowed with profound feelings.

Functionally, the light will have two states: one is to slowly turn on and off according to a certain period, which is similar to the frequency of slow breathing and can play a role in adjusting breathing to a certain extent. Another kind of light will slowly turn on and off, and stay on for the rest of the time. The purpose is to reduce the instantaneous stimulation of the light switch to the eyes. The entire use process can make the user in a more peaceful state.

I started to use pine as a sample, and found a series of problems in the process of assembling with customized circuit boards, so I modified the original plan, and finally made solid wood monolith.

In the process of making pine model, I learned the whole wood processing process from the carpenter, so I completed the whole processing process of black walnut and ash by myself, including turning processing/lathe polishing/manual polishing/manual polishing/drilling positioning/assembling circuit boards, etc. I learned a lot and further experienced the spirit of craftsman.
