This space feels very familiar, but it has been reimagined through its color and material palette. Designer André Fu said: "I use my memories of the Mediterranean as inspiration and respond to the vivid dishes of chef Jun Tanaka with dialogues of color and bold geometry." From the beginning, our desire was to capture the richness of the Mediterranean with the warmth and familiarity of the neighborhood bistro."
Fu chose a palette of earthy orange, rich burgundy, mineral blue, grayish green and golden caramel to create five unique spaces. "I also injected a new fluid language into the design, emphasizing organic forms and sculptural contours," he said. In fact, the realization of geometry, touch and vitality provides subtle but compelling clues throughout. Adjacent to the main dining room, three semi-private dining pavilions are marked by elevated marble counters and a grooved earth pendant hanging from an inverted copper cone. The private dining room focuses on hand-crafted bronze glazed tiles and equally warm and inviting displays of copper pans.
