Even coffee beans can't be themselves these days. Humans have made one set of adult toys for her...
The earliest origin of coffee is untestable. Around the 11th century, people began to brew coffee with water as a beverage.
In the 13th century, the Ethiopian army invaded Yemen and brought coffee to Arabia by the way; since then, the cultivation and production of coffee was once monopolized by the Arabs.
At the end of the 16th century, coffee was introduced to Europe on a large scale through Italy under the name of "Islamic wine", because it was known as "black gold" because of its high price ".
Around the 17th century, coffee was once transferred from Yemen to Indonesia and finally successfully planted in Brazil; because Brazil's climate was very suitable for coffee growth, coffee quickly spread in South America.
If you have been impressed by the invention of the can in 1810 and the can opener in 1858, then did the appearance of the coffee machine with steam as pressure until 1901 "wait for once in a thousand years"!
Moreover, compared with the original sin of most inventions because of "laziness", the appearance of the coffee machine is because Bezzera Luigi is dissatisfied with the long time it takes to make coffee; the appearance of the coffee machine gives coffee a more refined "ritual" "Sense", from Nestle to Starbucks, from carving time to lucky, so that countless people flock to it.
It is said that a good grape can only reach the height of 3 millimeters after ten years of vicissitudes, so what does a good coffee bean need to go through to make it beautiful?

Change the extraction equipment
○
The FrankOne designed by EduardoUma is the first coffee machine to brew using vacuum suction technology. Two hours of USB charging can make 150 cups of coffee.
The design of the FrankOne is very simple: it improves the reverse French press technology, uses vacuum extraction, uses negative pressure to force cold water through finely ground coffee powder, and accelerates the whole process.
The Superveloce-designed Aviatore Veloce combines a coffee machine with a jet propeller, and its high-pressure brewing system can make espresso.
Veloce Royale 01, also designed by Superveloce, has the same design concept as Aviatore Veloce: redesign the key parts of mature large machinery and give it a new life.
The high-speed movement of the electric-driven engine can create cavities with different pressures to help the coffee powder complete the extraction.

Change the way of interaction

As we all know, the coffee we drink every day is made from coffee beans with different cooking utensils. However, whether it is ready-made or self-made, they often have too many complicated processes.
Inspired by the SQUEEZE LIFE'S LEMONS lemon juicer, Barista & Co designed the Twist Press manual espresso machine through simple distortion interaction, and only need to adjust the water volume and brewing time to brew the desired taste.
Under sufficient extrusion, coffee powder can be "extracted" with higher frequency and high speed in a limited space. On the premise of self-sufficiency, the mellow taste of coffee powder can be extracted in a short time.
Eden, designed by Tanwi Mirajkar and Sayali Upadhye, aims to immerse users in their personal brewing process by stimulating visual, tactile and olfactory feelings.
Eden only needs to fill one side with moisture, place the coffee powder in the center connector, then assemble another container, then turn it over and let the coffee drip; finally, just unscrew it and perform a doctor's treatment (add other ingredients) Or take the coffee directly from the container.
Compared with Twist Press's direct conversion of bioenergy, Eden can use natural potential energy for trickling filtration.

Change a cultural context

The coffee machine designed by Hannah Han and PDF Haus follows the design language of Le Creuset's traditional cookware series.
Le Creuset coffee machine combines ancient brewing methods with modern aesthetics. The brewing system uses a beautiful mixture of wood, glass and metal parts embedded in organized trays, and the temperature can be adjusted.
The whole original brewing process is very similar to the oriental tea art.
Coffee Composer, designed by Xinyue Yang and Antonia Nandori, redesigned the form of coffee powder.
The composition of different types of milk, sugar, coffee and even foam is turned into "ingredient tokens", and the different ingredient codes are finally read by the coffee machine to mix and distribute the ingredients.
If Le Creuset is the tea art of the east, then Coffee Composer is the medicine of the west.
Because the baking process of coffee beans requires a relatively high level of equipment and skills, if on-site production is not required; the processed coffee powder will be more approachable.
Therefore, for a good cup of coffee, it is necessary to "crush the coffee beans" first. As for how to deal with it later, it is just the "extraction" process of dissolving coffee powder in water.
We can green it and use biological energy or gravitational potential energy to control it.
We can be technologically, using other equipment to convert energy to accelerate extraction.
We can ritualize it, use ancient brewing and modern formulas to package it.
However, the essence of coffee powder dissolved in water will not change. We can change potential energy, equipment and even time, which is strongly related to the taste of coffee.
However, the use of equipment for extraction here is only a relatively old method, and its use scenarios are limited; turning it into a toy (Twist Press), a view (Eden), a tradition (Le Creuset) or a game (Coffee Composer) is more imaginative.
However, Coffee Composer the token "game" with this ingredient has more room for operation. It can be game rewards, decryption puzzles and digital coffee. You can even directly "tablet" various nutrients and try to develop new formulas yourself.
