The work was partly inspired by the film Kikujiro's Summer. The film shows the unemployed vagrant Kikujiro accompanying third-grade primary school student Masao on a summer adventure in search of his mother. During the journey, they experience events that are both hilarious and touching, and undergo subtle changes of heart.
The tea set envisions the protagonist as an unhappy adult fat bird (teapot) leaving home and gradually encountering three small children (teacups) on the way. They play on the journey of climbing and wading, and like Kijiro, the unhappy fat bird produces subtle changes in its heart. Finally find inner peace and tranquility under the blue sky and white clouds.
The tea set design takes "bird" as the main modeling element, symbolizing hope and growth. The fat bird (teapot) represents the self-exploration and spiritual healing in the journey, while the three birds (teacups) symbolize the partners and experiences encountered in the journey. Through this design, I hope to convey the idea of finding inner peace in exploration and companionship.
