This is a classic cooperation between nendo and Italian luxury watch brand PANERAI.

First of all, this design is composed of a transparent "empty shell" clock, which provides the condensed features of PANERAI brands and consists of a time scale using a number and a square case. The design was then elongated to 16m long using an extrusion molding process. Then make a clock by hand, cut the "shell clock" into pieces one by one, and turn them into finished products for visitors to take home. Since the visitor's "age" is converted into "millimeters", clocks of various proportions are naturally created. A circular studio space is set up at each production stage such as "polishing", "sandblasting" and "assembly. When these spaces are connected to each other, the clock gradually forms, which is very similar to the "gear of the watch". The clock is produced at a speed of one every 5 minutes. The long and narrow "empty shell clock" was shredded one by one during the exhibition and became shorter. When it disappeared, the device was completed. In other words, a "shell clock" is a device that makes time feel like an hourglass.

By shortening "time" to "length", similar to "selling time by volume", people can experience time and, more importantly, "reclaim their own time".

A seemingly casual idea, using the well-known extrusion molding process, such a classic idea was born, derived from a design starting point to such a large scene application, which all amazed us. This should be the best interpretation of "small idea, big design!
