VITA is an autonomous first-visit drone designed to support emergency medical services (EMS) at the scene of an automobile accident. By providing on-site immediate support, it fills the critical time gap between the accident and the arrival of the EMS, improving early intervention and increasing patients' chances of better treatment outcomes.
The drone carries a compact emergency kit containing an automated external defibrillator (AED) and trauma supplies. The dual-camera system provides real-time footage to EMS dispatchers, enabling faster remote assessment and decision-making. Airborne AI assesses the situation on site, prioritizes actions, and supports EMTs during transit, helping dispatchers reduce their psychological burden and improve coordination. The front screen displays a comforting digital face that communicates with the victim through visual instructions, emotional support and AED guidance. VITA uses a bladeless rotor to operate safely when close to humans. Front and rear signal lights remind traffic, and bottom-facing LED lights improve visibility at night. The drone flies for up to 60 minutes before returning to a charging station for recharging or battery replacement.
