The new Alienware Area-51 is a completely re-imagined gaming PC resulting from 18 years of innovation experience and a reinvigorated design approach. The gaming PC features the visually compelling Triad chassis which is a complete ground up re-design from previous generations and delivers state-of-the-art performance, scalability, and ease of use. The design challenge was no small task for the design team: a total re-design of an already iconic and industry-leading, gaming PC full-tower desktop system. The design team questioned everything and then began working on an approach ba-sed on how gamers actually use full-tower desktops rather than ba-sed on what was easy or traditional to design. The design team didn't only focus on looks without reason but wanted to evolve a functional aesthetic for the new system. That meant paying close attention to how gamers wanted to access their system components for upgrades, to fully understand and work with engineers to optimize the internal thermal characteristics, to improve interactions with the front and rear I /O connections and controls, and even think about how the users would occasionally carry the system.
