LEO (Low Earth Orbit Satellite)
LEO Low Earth Orbit, general track height: 200km ~ 2000km, mostly in the range of 500-1200km.
core physical characteristics
Orbital period: about 90~120 minutes around the earth, fly very fast, the ground to see the satellite quickly across the sky, will not stop at a certain point in the sky.
Track speed: about 7~7.8 km/s, the lower the track, the faster the speed.
The orbit does not need to be in the equatorial plane and can be tilted at any angle, covering the north and south poles.
There is still thin air in the atmosphere, which will have atmospheric resistance. Satellites with orbits below 500km will slowly decay and need to be ignited regularly to lift the orbit, otherwise they will fall and burn.
