I take the clearly divided grades of military chess as the design starting point to combine some elements of the Forbidden City to design. In the Forbidden City, the hierarchical elements are vividly presented. Among them, the grade change of the roof of the Forbidden City attracted me. In the roof of the Forbidden City, the roof is divided into three categories: the top of the palace, the top of the Xieshan, and the top of the hanging mountain. Among them, the top of the palace is the highest, and the top of the palace is divided into double eaves and the top of the palace. The second is the double eaves Xieshan top, Xieshan top; and so on. I used the changing situation of the roof of the Forbidden City as the main display point, supplemented by the changes in color brightness, changes in the level of the platform base, changes in the number of open rooms and other elements as the design support, and then designed these 11 types of chess pieces; I respectively The grades of the 11 types of chess pieces correspond to the emperor, the Taifu, the governor, the government, the prefecture, the magistrate, the shaoqing, the patrol. It corresponds to the eleven types of pieces of military chess.

From the roof, you can see an obvious hierarchy. The emperor's roof is the top of the palace with double eaves and so on.
From the aspect of color brightness, we can see a clear distinction. From the emperor to the Taifu and then to other chess pieces, the color brightness has a change process from bright to gray.
In terms of the number of platform bases, we can also see an obvious classification. The emperor's platform base is a three-tier platform base, which decreases in turn to the Tai Fu, and there is no platform base in the final inspection, which reflects the classification of chess pieces.
The number of open rooms is also one of the important criteria for measuring the level of this set of chess pieces. In the chess pieces, the number of open rooms obviously shows a decreasing change from high level to low registration.
