At 2: 23 p. m. on July 26, 2018, I received an invitation from Xiao Xiang to try out the polar meter Z6 projector and write an evaluation article for it. After a week of high-intensity viewing work, I wrote this article on the keyboard on the evening of August 13, 2018. This article only represents myself-an amateur movie enthusiast, a small white projector, and an industrial designer's experience in all aspects of Z6 projector. It is good for everyone to have a look without comparing it with friendly products.
As a professional industrial designer, a small white projector, the text and point of view are still cut from the design point of view to avoid being a lesson.

Packaging, a large and white box, the product under the influence of typical apple style, the process and material selection are also very close. The overall feeling is clean and concise, and the labels are slightly confused.

The packing box is attached with a cloth strip that is easy to pull out of the projector. It is a considerate design and a conventional method.

Be disciplined and line up (forgive the designer's obsessive-compulsive disorder). Envelope-style instruction package design makes me feel full of solemnity and sincerity from manufacturers.

The combination of pictures and texts in the instructions makes the layout clear and clear. The disadvantage is that the color is white and gray pictures and texts, and the reading experience in low light environment is not friendly.

Look at the packaging and we'll go back to the projector itself.
The overall shape of the polar meter Z6 projector is rounded rectangle, the top surface is white matte plastic material texture, the bottom black circular chassis surrounds the annular radial cooling hole, and the color is only black and white. The overall design language is quiet and concise, with a certain affinity, and has the feeling of Japanese Muji's simple style. The matching remote control design also adopts the same design style.

The advantage of minimalist design style and compact body is multi-scene adaptability. Whether it is placed on the bedside table, marble windowsill or wardrobe, it is very versatile with plants, animals or clothing. Well, yes, I put it in the wardrobe.

I can't see it from the detailed pictures, but I can feel it. The surface of the plastic material shell has fine etching texture and warm tentacles. In the language of a material supplier, the description is as smooth as a girl's skin. In terms of design, it is a cost-saving method without making the product appear cheap.

The nut G7 projector of similar type and configuration uses a large area of metal top cover and CD texture decoration. The price on Jingdong is 300 yuan higher than that of the polar meter Z6. I wonder if it is used on it.

The fuselage design abandons all meaningless decorative designs, even the unique vinyl record features of Z4. Instead, the arrangement and combination of sound outlet holes, key holes, heat dissipation holes and explanatory text are used as the decorative points in the details, so as to restrain introversion and conform to the aesthetic trend of the current mass market.

The four corners of the projector chassis are each fixed with a screw. The screws are made of black electroplating and CD texture effect. The cost input in the details improves the overall quality of the product.

But here I'm talking about a slot. The four corners of the screw are fixed in a simple shape, but the fixed area is stressed in a point shape, and the side installation position structure is presumed to have no buckle clamping position (the small elephant does not allow the machine to be disassembled, so there is no way to verify it, and it can only be speculated based on experience). After the projector works for a long time, the shell expands under the influence of the thermal power of the bulb, and the expansion rate. It's nitpicking.

The side of the chassis adopts an arc-shaped design, and with the compact body of the Z6, it can be easily moved even if it is operated with one hand. The heat dissipation hole area is slightly concave, which just fits the finger abdomen when contacting, and feels comfortable and prevents slipping.

The side of the remote control is triangular, and the grip feels comfortable. The key decoration is black plated CD texture, which maintains unity with the screw design of the body.

The volume key of the tilt design does not need to bend the fingers during operation, and the switching is very comfortable.

It's still the design of the remote control. I believe no one can find out where the power key is without looking at the picture on the right.

After reading the exterior design part, we will turn on the machine to learn about the actual operation and viewing experience.
Jimi Z6 is equipped with Android operating system and supports Bluetooth, WIFI, HDMI, USB and U disk live broadcast. It can be used in many ways. The operation interface is flat and the top navigation bar is easy to switch. Jimi comes with certain video resources and supports platform video resources such as Mango TV, iQiyi and Tencent Video. It can meet the viewing needs of most users. Of course, except for a small amount of free resources, all others are for members.
The projection width of Z6 is 60-120 inches. It is still no problem for ordinary bedrooms to fill a wall. In terms of size alone, it can already create the effect of home cinema.

Equipped with Harman Catton sound, the bass is strong and powerful, and the rendering of the sound effect of the big scene in the movie is relatively excellent. The treble part is slightly weak, but it is enough if there is no professional requirement for sound quality. In addition to the projection function, Z6 also specially designed a music player mode, chicken ribs, not to mention, the picture is too lazy.

The projection brightness of Z6 is 500-700ANSI lumens, which is slightly lower. The best experience can only be achieved in a dark environment. The indoor viewing effect on sunny days is very poor, almost impossible to watch.

The effect is better under the artificial cloudy indoor environment (close the curtains), and the color and brightness are slightly lower than that of ordinary TV screens.

The effect in the dark environment is close to the cinema viewing experience. The picture is clear and full of colors. Another advantage of watching movies in dark environment is that it enables viewers to focus and immerse themselves in the movie plot. This is the biggest difference between watching movies in cinemas and watching TV programs at home.

The Z6 resolution comes standard with 1080P and is compatible with up to 4K resolution.
The projection performance is that 4K Altman is only slightly clearer than 1080P Altman, so I downloaded more than 20g of high-definition video resources. Obviously, the movies I downloaded are more reliable than platform resources.

Since there are no friendly products, the picture effect is compared with the computer monitor. The picture on the left shows the Z6 projection effect. It can be seen that the projector effect has a stronger color contrast and higher saturation, while the computer monitor has a softer hue. The highlighted part of the projector screen is brighter, the dark part is darker, and the details are slightly missing. The color temperature difference is caused by camera parameters, please ignore this.

In addition to conventional functions, Z6 also adds some small details to improve the use experience, such as intelligent voice control that conforms to the trend of the times. This function allows me to easily find the movies I want to watch in the massive video resources of various platforms.

Side cast correction function, the advantage of this function is that the projector can be placed in a more capricious position when the space is relatively cramped.

It can be seen from the projection boundary that this is the corrected picture, and the overall picture quality shows no obvious change.

The only disadvantage is that there are jagged marks on the edge of the corrected picture. Of course, this detail can be ignored in the actual viewing.

The motion compensation function and auto-focus function introduced in the official website are not very felt, but we should rely on our own hands.
In general, although there are still details of the design of the polar meter Z6 projection that still need to be improved, the overall feeling has already satisfied me. In the use experience, a product with a price of only 2699 created the feeling of a private cinema for me, and even indulged in it. I believe this is the satisfaction that is difficult to get at the same price on other products. Therefore, it is also a product worth starting.
