DJI-GEO dual-mode shooting UAV suit integrates one-handed remote control and wing detachable UAV. It can not only remotely control aerial photography, capture high-altitude beauty, but also through the magnetic interface to form a portable PTZ camera, to achieve handheld shooting. The original intention of its design is to solve the problems of limited use scenes and low utilization rate of consumer drones, and to bring users a more flexible, efficient, innovative and convenient multi-mode shooting experience.
The whole project revolves around "how to make unmanned aerial vehicles realize handheld shooting", which is also the general design direction given by the tutor.
When conceiving the sketch of the unmanned aerial vehicle, it is envisaged to continue DJI's current appearance style and semantics, to let people know that it is DJI's product as soon as they see it, and to design the wing to be detachable to reduce the volume of hand-held shooting.
When collecting the handle intention map, I found that DJI's flight control joystick and OSMO MOBIL (mobile phone pan-tilt)/OSMO POCKET (pan-tilt camera) have many similarities in key layout and shape, so I simply installed the unmanned aerial vehicle on the joystick and turned it into a hand-held pan-tilt camera.
The operation layout of GEO joystick is quite different from the original joystick. A single button can realize a variety of different operation functions according to the shooting mode and operation mode (such as pressing the roller when sliding the roller). Now think about it, there are still many functions that are not convenient to integrate on a one-handed rocker.
Before modeling, clay was used to knead many possible shapes and key layouts of handles to get started with human-computer interaction experience.
Finally, the 3D printed model is colored, and a total of three layers of water and soil replenishment, color paint and extinction are sprayed, which can slightly simulate the effect of the product after landing.
