The Straits Culture and Art Center consists of a multifunctional theater hall, an opera house, a concert hall, an art museum, a film and television center, a central cultural hall and ancillary rooms. The five main buildings form five white jasmine petals. The Liangcuo River is like a flower handle passing through the middle of the petals. The hydrophilic platform formed by several small petals goes deep into Minjiang River, forming a magnificent Chinese picture of "jasmine flowers in the sky of Shuiyue River.
The starting point of the design of the Strait Culture and Art Center is "to provide an extraordinary experience for ordinary users". The commercial pedestrian street and hydrophilic platform on both sides of Liangcuo River are connected with the future subway line. They reach the roof viewing platform through the revolving stairs at the "eye" part, and then enter Jasmine Square deep into Minjiang River from the large ramps on both sides. At the same time, Jasmine Square is connected to the Minjiang River Water Trail. The square deep into the Minjiang River is built with urban flood control facilities, so that the building truly becomes a part of the urban landscape and serves the ordinary life of ordinary citizens. 2. Building Materials The Strait Culture and Art Center uses materials with both geographical and natural attributes-pottery materials and bamboo. The use of these materials highlights the concept of environmental protection and ecological design, so that the sense of nature and Chinese characteristics of the elements blend. The front elevation of the main building is composed of more than 40000 1760mm pottery stick louvres. On the back is 36600 rectangular ceramic plates with a standard part size of 800mmX400mm. According to incomplete statistics, the Straits Culture and Art Center project is currently the world's largest ceramic curtain wall building. 3, interior design room interior wall facing pottery and bamboo use more Chinese. The walls of the multi-function hall are paved with solid CNC-cut bamboo blocks, such as layers of waves that slowly unfold and connect into one piece. About 1.5 million three-dimensional jasmine pottery pieces are "blooming" on the 2000 ㎡ wall of the opera house. The walls of the concert hall are made of about 25000 pieces of white glazed ceramic louver. These pottery pieces have the "fold feeling of traditional Chinese rice paper" and the "peony" pattern, the overall effect is elegant and flexible, and the three-dimensional sense is strong. These traditional elements together form a picture with Chinese aesthetic mood.
