The Asian Design Awards took shape at the beginning of 2017 and will be held for the fourth time in 2020. It has changed from a small idea to a large-scale award program, which has been supported and cooperated with design institutions and professionals from all over the world. The most successful feature of the Asian Design Awards is its meticulous, accurate and fair review system and review procedures: students, professionals, and even everyone in multidisciplinary design studios have the same rights to evaluate the creativity and project quality in the fairest way.
The selection of the Asian Design Grand Prix is evaluated by an authoritative review committee composed of 42 design professionals, design educators and design journalists from 14 countries/regions. Submission of the project to the members of the review committee without revealing the name, nationality, organization or any other personal information of the designer. The judging process is divided into two rounds, each round is reviewed by different judges, so as to obtain fair and accurate evaluation results. The chairman of the judges will review the winning works of the previous 10% and determine the winner of this year's "Asian Design Award. At the end of each year, the organizing committee will hold an award party for its winners, issue certificates and souvenirs, and the winners can communicate with each other and with the jury. The winners' works will be included in the Asian Design Award Yearbook, permanently displayed online, and even included in famous design magazines and periodicals around the world, truly bringing attention to their works and certifying their skills!

Please visit the Asian Design Awards website for more information! They have just announced the 2019 winners. The following will lead you through the best designs worth seeing!
1. TAC Air Purifier Designer: Junku Jung
Air quality varies from place to place, just as allergies vary from person to person. Therefore, it is unreasonable for everyone to have the same purification system. With this in mind, TAC air purifiers can provide customized air purification functions for you and your residence. Unlike other purifiers, it has unique filters, each dedicated to a specific type of allergen or pollutant. There are special filters for those living in big cities, smoke filtering and pollen allergy. You only need to stack these colorful sheet filters to provide the right balance for you and your unique space!
2. Paprika stool designer: Yoshioishikawa
Behind the Paprika stool lies clever design thinking. Stool or furniture takes up a lot of space whether it is retail or transported from factory to store. Perhaps it is possible to design a stool that is deflated during transportation and only expands when purchased? The stool looks like a balloon with three legs. It is made of fabric to maintain the softness and comfort of the outside. After purchase, it only takes a few minutes to fill the inside with PU foam, and customers can bring the soft and strong stool home. This stool makes transportation simple and efficient, thus saving costs, and just like filling cotton into cushion covers or mattresses or filling polystyrene balls into bean bags, it can be made into various sizes by filling PU foam into larger stool covers.
3. pencil sharpener designer: Di Lu
If you have sharpened a pencil (if you have not sharpened a pencil, which planet are you from?), you will know the troubles of writing crumbs splashing around your desk. Unless you use a trash can and then sharpen your pencil, discarded lead and sawdust will disturb your work. In response to this problem, this pencil sharpener designed by Di Lu provides additional collection space for pen chips and is easy to discard. Is it simple?
4. Molt chair designer: Taylor Cheng
Inspired by the Ming Dynasty, Molt Chair combined Western furniture design with ancient Chinese cultural values. The front design of the sloping suspended armrests and chairs is inspired by the throne of the Chinese emperor, while the side view is more like the shape of a modern rocking chair.
5. Ultra-thin Intelligent Flush Toilet Designer: American Standard
SSW3 is designed to renovate existing toilets and simplify the process from toilet paper to water-based cleaning systems. You can control SSW3 by operating a simple joystick on the side, pull up the front water outlet cleaning, and push down the rear water outlet cleaning. The system can be neatly integrated into the existing toilet and can work without electricity!
6. Veark CK01 kitchen knife designer: Daniel Ronge
Veark CK01 kitchen knife is an integrated tool. The design of the handle of the tool draws on the design of the handle of the tool and gives the Veark CK01 knife its proper attributes. This knife is by far the chef's favorite and most important tool, which is why CK01 has such an industrial beauty. CK01 blades are all manufactured in Solingen, Germany, which is the holy land of tool manufacturing and blade processing throughout Europe. Drop forging technology makes each handle have its own unique texture, which is as unique as a fingerprint, and the hardness is Rockwell 58. The integrated design brings more than just a good look: the open handle design allows your thumb to lean on the blade and hold the knife like a professional. The metal blade also provides a balancing force, making it easy for you to use. Integration also means that the knife is easy to maintain and has no place for food, dirt and dust. Simple rinsing can make Veark CK01 look new!
7. Leaf hair dryer designers: Yejin Choi, Jinah Kim and Juhyuk Yun
The aesthetic Leaf folding hair dryer is very novel, exploring a completely organic and innovative design direction. The standing hair dryer takes up almost no space on the table, and can be placed on its contact charging board when not in use. The air dryer is partially folded inwards and integrated with the handle. When the two are separated, the white shell of the ram part makes it look like a leaf. As long as you remove it from the charging stand and unfold it for use, you can enjoy silky smooth hair.
8. Hougyoku designer: Kenichi Ken Mizuno
The Hougyoku combines the craftsmanship of pottery and jewelry, and is shaped like a bird feeding its eggs. This is the result of a combination of traditional and modern pottery techniques developed in the Japanese pottery city of Seto. The shape of the bird and the shape of the egg are normal and negative, respectively, expressed in color as a whole. Hougyoku can be used as a small sculpture or a storage space for small souvenirs.
9. Baoliyuan, Wangaihong and Maqianqian of coat designers
The internal structure of this daily coat is suitable for pregnant women throughout pregnancy! Realizing the importance of wearing fashion for pregnant women, the designer decided to redesign pregnancy clothing so that non-pregnant women can wear it. Just to buy a lot of clothes during pregnancy, it is unreasonable to throw them away after the child is born. Coat women's clothing can be worn at any time. An expandable fabric structure is attached with a zipper inside the coat. When it is not needed, it can also be used as a scarf!
