The IDC team in the UK has built a design with excellent ergonomics and suitable for production for the new Apex 400 desktop hydraulic press Specacs by its old customers. By interpreting its brand characteristics, the new design is seamlessly integrated into its continuously expanding product line.
The Apex 400 is a small hydraulic press designed to produce pressed pellets for XRF(X-ray fluorescence) and other elemental analysis.
In the equipment design project, IDC in the UK focused on the key elements of the equipment interaction point, including the interaction between the drawer and the digital user interface, to ensure that it is installed on the workbench, users can use it without obstacles, and to ensure the feasibility of production.
At the beginning of the design, the UK IDC team used prototype thinking to simulate the device for user testing using cardboard models with different heights to define interaction points for design and analyze how users can best operate the device.
This is the origin of the tilt screen design, which provides the best readability for users of different heights.
The sample loading tray is located at a comfortable height for the user, can be refilled with samples, and can be easily operated by the handle. This design makes the sampling process more efficient.
With expertise in manufacturing and sheet metal forming, the UK IDC engineering team carried out the final manufacturing design development based on the design prototype.
The design of the hydraulic press fully considers the maintenance and maintenance of the equipment. The modular design of the components makes it easy to repair. The structure can be moved into or out of the installation site by a crane connected to the top hook.
