Asthma and COPD are a class of chronic diseases that continue to increase in the global population base. The company is committed to delivering a high-quality and cost-effective capsule respiratory drug delivery to the low-end market, and can circumvent existing patent protection. Enterprises contact IDC product design team to participate in product design and development work.
The goal of this capsule delivery product is to identify product optimization opportunities and achieve relevant characteristics through design development, while ensuring efficient development. In addition, the common difficulties in the development of drug delivery devices also need to be considered.
For example: the compatibility of the medicine, that is, some special physical and chemical properties of the powder, such as adsorption, the inner wall adsorption powder will cause poor drug delivery accuracy.
Secondly, the interaction design of the product, errors caused by misoperation, excessive or insufficient administration will cause danger to the patient.
Delivery accuracy and delivery efficiency are also one of the difficulties of inhalation preparations.
Another aspect of the design challenge is the high patent bottleneck of this type of product. Our design must not only meet all safety, accuracy and stability requirements. It is also necessary to fully understand the characteristics of existing patent protection and use more ingenious and unique designs to achieve functional goals.

The ergonomic design is based on perfect engineering refinement and pre-produced samples. Considering the user's usage habits, the traditional gesture of the product has been continued to maintain the intuitive use of the product. The design was tested and considered through a prototype.
From a business perspective, the definition of the visual identity of the product is also critical. It not only has to be familiar with consumers, but also different from other products on the market. Through the modification of color, texture and shape, the design team gives the product a unique personality.
During the production-oriented design refinement phase, the design team supported a full range of design deliberations to ensure full coverage of the required design details. Includes 2D CAD drawings defining tolerances suitable for mass production, stacking analysis. The material grade of individual parts is determined according to their respective manufacturing processes and mechanical interactions. This level of detail allows us to express three-dimensional data with high precision, thus making a smooth transition to the manufacturing phase. The protocol can be submitted to regulatory agencies such as the FDA for approval.
Through sufficient research on the standardized drug delivery structure, the UK IDC team was able to quickly advance the design and development process of this complex drug delivery device, and finally completed all the design and development work before production within 9 months.
