The architectural design of Shanhai Art Museum borrows the momentum of the mountain and sea stone forest. Instead of building a stable platform like most mountain forest buildings in the past, the stone forest is completely preserved and the limitations brought by the terrain are dismantled. The seemingly dilapidated woodland tries to connect point by point. Even some vegetation and trees are rarely preserved in the construction. The various spaces of the museum are scattered with each other, dancing with the stone forest, forming a settlement with multiple relationships. The design logic is the same, it is out of consideration and respect for the spirit of the place, and it is introduced to let the stone forest and trees participate in the space together. The charm of architecture and design is that it carries the traces of a city's heritage and history, consciousness, culture and dream belonging and rebirth. The form of the mountain collection, the grass sea, the mountain sea gallery moves because of the stone, so there will be high and low. The design introduces the "Mobius ring" moving line into the space, whether it is up or down, it is a cyclical process. Stone forest sea, rammed earth wall, sunshine and forest are the stories owned by Shanhai Art Museum. Passing through the tunnel, one side is the red rammed earth wall under the sunlight, the texture is very clear, and the other side is the transparent glass curtain wall. All the mountains and seas are changing and overwhelming. Stone Forest, as the external environment we must retain, is actually very strong. Therefore, the design chooses the local rammed earth in Yunnan as the prototype. The local nature of the material and its rough reality can have a better connection and echo with "Stone Forest. In addition, in such a high and low building, an indomitable glass curtain wall can cooperate with the inside and outside of the space to bring "Xishan, Caohai and Chuncheng" into the room without any shelter. In terms of design, the design of Shanhai Art Museum is not only to create a place for art exhibition, but also to create a series of scenes, connections, culture, and even more... This is the designer's "hometown of nothing".
