As the window and gateway of the country, the airport has high requirements for the water quality safety and water supply of drinking fountains in public areas. Therefore, drinking water equipment not only needs to have a large flow of water production capacity, high quality and high reliability to meet the demand for drinking water during the peak period of the airport, but also needs to be able to match the airport as an important public place in the city in terms of brand image.
In order to upgrade the original drinking water equipment to meet the drinking water demand of the airport's large passenger flow population and the brand image demand of the airport, a comprehensive upgraded airport drinking water method is needed to help the airport to have a greater improvement in brand image and passenger satisfaction. The A.O. Smith airport drinking machine was born with the cooperation of TOALL convex and concave design.
Due to the use of the clean drink machine in the airport, the environment is more complex, in the early stage of the design, the convex team searched the photos of the drinking water at the major airports in China, through the photo analysis and study of the use of the clean drink machine in the airport environment pain points and can be optimized points.
From a perspective to analyze the integration of the net drink machine in the airport environment, the convex-concave team found that the airport environment was generally light-colored. The environmental space of the airport is large, and the volume of the net drink machine in the environment is relatively small. At the same time, the airport tends to have a tough architectural style with straight lines. Straight lines are very common. If the net drink machine appears in two parallel lines in a curved shape, it will appear very incongruous. From a close-up perspective, the net drink machine pays more attention to the user's first perspective experience. During the analysis, the convex and concave team found that different airports use different labels to indicate safety and reading difficulties caused by operating multilingual and multitext.
Based on the observation and analysis from different perspectives, the design team compiled a questionnaire on the airport drinking machine, and conducted a questionnaire survey on the airport drinking machine in a small range. Through the actual interview with users, the design direction of the product was excavated. Obtain the most direct user orientation from user research, tap the user's brand image requirements for the net drink machine, and the convex and concave design scheme is diverged on this basis.
Convex and Concave have been deeply engaged in the design industry for many years and have profound insight into the needs of users in different scenarios. In 2016, the design team created a brand-new image of A.O. Smith Airport Drinking Machine through on-site investigation of the airport environment and investigation and analysis of users' needs. Through design empowerment, it not only improved the drinking water experience of users in the airport environment, but also greatly improved the brand image of the airport, at that time, it also consolidated the status of A.O. Smith's commercial water purification as the industry's high-end leader. In the future, convex and concave will also be committed to the design industry, thinking about the relationship and pain points between users, products and the environment, and bringing more excellent products to users!
The overall shape of the.O. Smith airport drinking machine is straight and simple, in line with the architectural style of the airport, which can better integrate into the airport environment and avoid damage to the brand image of the airport.
The embedded installation is more compatible with the environment of the airport, which greatly reduces the possibility of visual conflict between the product and the environment.
Thinking about the pain points of using conventional products: language diversification, complex prompt information, convex and concave design team through the use of simplified optimization of the process and interaction, the use of digital and simple Chinese and English combined with different prompt ICON, breaking the language barriers, greatly reducing the user's learning costs when using.
The selection of product materials uses brushed metal surface treatment technology, combined with black glass panels, the overall visual style tends to be calm and atmospheric, full of scientific and technological sense without losing tone, and the use of large areas of gray can also help the product to better integrate in the environment.
