This is the multi-scene microphone I designed in 2022 and won the Red Dot Award in 2023. Of course, this product has now been mass production shipments.
📐The core challenge of this product is "multi-scene"-it needs to be compatible with desktop stands, camera cold boots and hand-held interviews. In order to avoid the bloated form caused by multi-function, we have made extremely restrained subtraction in modeling. The fuselage uses the purest cylindrical geometric language, with a two-segment folding cantilever structure. The lines are clean and neat, without any extra decorative lines. The purity of this geometry ensures that it can present a rational, professional and capable visual order whether it is folded and unfolded on the desktop or installed on the camera.
🌑CMF collision: rational metal and emotional "skin" in the material collocation, we play a little sense of contrast, but also my personal preference of "Soft Tech" concept:
Base and bracket: need to provide absolute stability, so we use all-metal aluminum alloy. The surface has been treated with very delicate sandblasting oxidation, which makes it feel cold and tough, and the matte luster appears restrained and advanced under the light.
Cylindrical main body: Considering the holding requirements of handheld and camera use, the body is covered with high-grade hand-sensitive paint. It not only leaves no fingerprints, but also brings a warm, skin-friendly touch. This cold metal and soft paint collision, breaking the traditional 3C digital equipment cold stereotype, more than a cultural atmosphere of the temperature.
💿Detail Array: Acoustic Hole Hidden in Light and Shadow The pickup area on the front of the fuselage is where we 've been banging on for the longest time. There are 8 microphones hidden in it, corresponding to 3 kinds of array forms. If you make 8 holes directly in the fuselage, it will be very fragmented and lack of focus visually. Therefore, we have introduced a very metallic CD decorative sheet. Light and shadow circulate and distribute in this long strip area, which not only improves the overall delicacy, but also skillfully integrates the 8 microphone holes into the array aesthetics of CD pattern. The acoustic structure of the hard core is thus elegantly hidden under the design details.
As a designer, the happiest thing is to see the lines on the drawing eventually become the real texture on the desktop. I hope this work, which has both reason and temperature, can become a bright color on everyone's desktop.✍
