Mark Newson likes the sea. The flow of sea water always carries endless energy, but it also pours out endless weight. This is Newson's understanding of technological material and line innovation. Many of his ideas come from nature, which is also the ultimate source of all product designers.
On Mark's 40th birthday, he launched a private concept plane Kelvin40 that would not fly. This is unprecedented in the history of design. In this work, Mark is not a commercial act, but designed for himself. "Some of my friends live in Australia, where the land is vast and the resources are abundant. They fly more airplanes than cars, which inspires my interest in designing airplanes." Although there is a foundation Support, but because of the huge cost, Mark paid out of his own pocket. It took two years to complete. Since the design of the aircraft requires many aspects of technical support, the aircraft can only be parked at the Cartier Foundation Exhibition Center.
Marknewson's works are simple and purely possess their own personality, but also have the perfect combination of materials, craftsmanship, human-computer interaction and products. For such a diversified output, Mark still hopes that there will be a line between all his works, with the same spirit and concept. This is the "soft minimalism" he advocates ".
Newsom said: "In the future, we will try to use different materials in a variety of fields or products to find more possibilities, and this is the direction I have been working hard on".
