Although the appearance of furniture is constantly changing, reflecting the aesthetic pursuit of people in each period, in the final analysis, as a daily necessities, the pursuit of functionality in furniture design also reflects the great differences between the East and the West from living habits to cultural spirit.
Chinese furniture pays attention to "the sky is round and the place is round". The armchair circle is round and the sitting surface is square. The designer combines his research on Nordic furniture with his understanding of traditional Chinese furniture and designs a crescent chair.
In the design, the crescent chair breaks the square and regular shape of the traditional circle chair. Combined with ergonomics, it is appropriately reduced according to the proportion of the traditional circle chair. The back plate is removed on the basis of the traditional circle chair, and the chair ring is polished into a multi-dimensional arc surface, so that the contact area between the chair ring and the back is larger and more closely fits the back curve.
The two-dimensional curve of the sitting surface is more ergonomic. The round chair ring and the armrest are integrated, and the line and surface are interspersed to form a sculptural body language. On the premise of satisfying the practical function, it also has the aesthetic feeling of form. The seat plate is tilted back 2cm, and the base is replaced with traditional intangible cultural heritage handmade rattan, soft and comfortable.
The crescent chair is made of sandalwood with high hardness. On the premise of ensuring the stability of the chair's stress structure, the designer presents the leg structure of the chair as fine as possible, making the whole chair more bony and ethereal.
