Hong Kong is a densely populated metropolis. Public space is precious in the city, but most of the public space is managed by the government, and rigid management methods have many restrictions on the way citizens use public space, so that only The public space has not been used well. Therefore, we hope that by designing a series of seat furniture dedicated to public spaces, we can broaden the imagination of public spaces and promote communication in the community. The design foundation of Mody Road Garden is mainly aimed at future community activities. It uses simple geometric patterns to construct colorful, different heights and different types of platforms, which is more flexible for the public to use, and functions such as rest, activities, display and communication as needed. Each group of seat furniture is composed of stainless steel plates with holes, which can be simply added with accessories or modified to meet the needs of different activities. In addition to the hardware (seat furniture) design, the entire design also attaches great importance to the cooperation of software (community activities). By co-organizing special community activities with different community groups, the design team allows citizens to enjoy public space and participate in planning, allowing communities outside the district to interact freely and deepen their sense of belonging to the community in each pleasant experience.
