This project is the conceptual design of large-scale landmark sculpture in Pingshan District of Shenzhen, closely following the regional development strategy of Pingshan new energy and intelligent manufacturing, telling the story of regional science and innovation development with artistic carrier, and creating a recognizable image of the city entrance.
The whole sculpture takes the tree of science and technology as the core modeling language, abandoning the realistic expression of traditional trees, and adopts modern abstraction to shape the upward growing branches. The branches stretch upward and diverge, and grow into a giant ring with multiple layers and scattered sizes at the top, forming the crown of the sculpture. The ring represents an infinite cycle, meaning that scientific and technological exploration is endless, and the industry continues to iterate and upgrade, echoing Pingshan's continuous breakthrough and endless development trend in the field of new energy and intelligent manufacturing.
The bottom of the sculpture integrates P8 specification LED screen, pedestrians and vehicles pass through the sculpture, and the giant screen forms an immersive visual interface. The dynamic picture can show the industrial style of Pingshan, the city propaganda film and the scientific and technological innovation achievements, integrate the digital media art with the large sculpture structure, and break the limitation of static sculpture. During the day, the metal ring presents a clean and modern texture under the sunlight, and the lines are light and upward; at night, the LED screen and the built-in lights of the ring are lit synchronously, forming a strong light and shadow level, and strengthening the atmosphere of the portal space.
The sculpture is located at the city road node as the first visual impression of entering the area. In the scale design, the dual perspectives of the car dealers' and the pedestrian are fully considered. From the perspective of the long-distance car dealers', the tree-shaped outline is simple and atmospheric, with strong recognition. Pedestrians approach and pass through the bottom of the sculpture, bringing a close immersive experience on the screen, completing the transformation from a distant view of landmarks to a close interaction.
Material and structure take into account the safety and durability of outdoor large sculpture, the overall use of stainless steel main frame, wind resistance, corrosion resistance, adaptation to Shenzhen coastal climate. This work is not just a simple landscape sculpture, but a concrete expression of Pingshan's industrial spirit, transforming the core of new energy and intelligent manufacturing into perceptible urban art, and conveying Pingshan's open, innovative and sustainable urban temperament.
