The waterscape art installation extracts the iconic banana leaves of Lingnan as the core creative language, and constructs the circular leaf cluster form with the transparent and light color carle board, which is rooted on the mirror waterscape of the exhibition center. In Lingnan context, plantain comes with warm and poetic flavor. Rain beating plantain and banana shadow reflecting water are gentle artistic conception belonging to the south alone. Transparent Kale board weakens the heavy feeling of hard sculpture. When sunlight penetrates the leaves, clear green light falls on the water surface. Wave light and leaf shadow are intertwined and virtual and real.
The installation forms a rigid and flexible dialogue with modern minimalist buildings. The neat metal curtain wall, the regular and still water surface, and the soft and stretched banana leaf shape will implant the natural image on the ground into the contemporary space. When still water flows, the transparent leaves change light and shade with the flow of light, eliminating the coldness of the building and re-engraving the original artistic conception of Lingnan water town with vegetation facing the water. The work does not deliberately carve a heavy narrative, dispels the boundary with a light and transparent texture, integrates nature, architecture, waterscape, light and shadow, and conveys the relaxed and elegant Lingnan life aesthetics. In a corner of the city, the leisurely poetry of banana leaves facing the water is hidden.
