This automated collaboration arm is our new 7-axis robotic arm specially designed for TCR Robotics. We designed and developed it together with TCR engineers and designed a new product style for TCR. This agile collaborative robot focuses on precise operation for industrial use. Nevertheless, its compact design allows it to fully operate in a small work cell, achieving the same cycle time as the 6-axis.

OUR ROLE
Design Aesthetic and Functional 7-Axis Cooperative Arm/DESIGN ENCLOSURE CASE FOR 7-AXIS ROBOTIC ARM
In this project, we worked with the TCR engineering team to design and develop TCR's first collaborative robotic arm. Thanks to the 7-axis motor, the movement of the mechanical arm can be extremely agile and flexible, which also tests the designer how to design both aesthetic and functional automation industrial products in the mechanical constraints. The scope of this project includes defining a new TCR aesthetic, a harmonized product design language, structural design, and a CMF plan.
For this project, our role, alongside the TCR engineering team, was to engineer and develop the premiere TCR collaborative robot arm. Thanks to the 7-axis motors, the movements of the robot arm can be extremely agile and flexible. The project scope included the design direction of a new TCR aesthetic, refined design details for a more cohesive product, and a CMF plan.
CHALLENGE
How to perfectly integrate mechanical parts into the case/HOW TO FIT ALL COMPONENTS INSIDE A BEAUTIFUL CASE
In this design process, first of all, we have done an in-depth analysis and research on all the movements and tasks that the robot arm needs to complete. Then cut the unnecessary volume and carve it as a sculpture. Finally, the muscular lines of the human body are translated into our main design language.
In this design process, we had to deeply understand all arm movements and tasks requiring special attention. Our approach began with trimming any unnecessary volume, carving it like a piece of sculpture. Enhancing the focus on the beauty of the human muscle and translating it into our design language.
