Pictures have a playful but universal truth, but sadly we often don't know it, it's hard to know it. Life may be like this. Some people continue to experience periodic growth in the above picture, while others are always crowded on the foolish mountain and unwilling to come. how to avoid becoming the latter, as yaoji yamamoto said, "yourself, this thing is invisible. if you hit something else and bounce back, you will understand. therefore, you will know what you are only after you collide with something very strong and something terrible. this is the self." The experience of the past two years has given me a deep understanding of this simple truth. Before leaving Beisi, the company was already familiar with its work, and I often got some positive feedback in designing websites, which made me start to have honey confidence and reach the peak of ignorance.

Fortunately, I received an interview invitation before I reached my life madness, which kicked me off the mountain of ignorance in time. So, began this difficult but rewarding two years. After joining the accessories design team of chrysanthemum factory, I found that I didn't know anything and couldn't do anything well. I even received a sentence, "Your proposal is the level of hand-painted homework for college students". The history is always surprisingly similar (when I just graduated, the director also said so ~ I wrote it down in a small notebook, and I will use it one day). Confidence collapsed and quickly fell into the valley of despair. This state of suspicion of life lasted for at least three months until the following project began to be received. Looking back now, this is really the most wise arrangement of our supervisor. Giving newcomers a complete and relatively independent project is really the best way to train newcomers and familiarize them with the company's rhythm.

The first landing project in the chrysanthemum factory was also the most complete and difficult project I had done so far. Difficulty, on the one hand, comes from the lack of experience and the difference in standards. It was probably more than two years after graduation when I received this project, but in fact I have never made products so deeply. The previous work was roughly that the design proposal was almost over. First, the product was relatively simple; second, the product strategy was different and the design requirements were not high. Therefore, there is basically no need to make too many modifications, which are all done by the finished product supplier. The mass production phase is also basically taken over by the project manager. My task is basically to stay at the drawing stage, even the hand board is rarely done. In this new platform, my boss is an old-timers from Sony, with high vision and strict requirements. So in her eyes, the details of the proposal I handed in at the beginning were all shit. So, I started a crazy overtime life. Before that, I almost got off work at 7 o'clock in two years. Even for the effect of the hand board and to ensure the delivery date of the hand board, I spent the night on the sofa of the hand board factory. However, every time these particularly difficult days survive, there is obvious progress. I began to know that, originally, the hand board can achieve such a delicate effect, the hand board should be made into the effect of mass production benchmark, to pull the research and development.

On the other hand, it comes from the difference in product strategy. Previously, it was more about the pursuit of short and fast rather than high-quality routes. In fact, I didn't understand it at first, because in the product dimension, some small details are actually acceptable to us. But in front of our boss, don't even think about it ~ although sometimes some ideas are inconsistent, I choose to believe in people who are better than me and follow her standards to try. So in this project, I also tossed in various details, including the use of this metal material, which is also very challenging, because metal will affect the design of the antenna. In fact, similar products with metals are rarely used on the market. In order to keep the effect of this metal, in-depth communication and coordination with radio frequency experts, there is a final ingenious combination of antenna and metal shell. Another interesting experience is the laser carving effect of logo. Before, in my knowledge, laser carving was either black or white. However, after several months of edification, I have already begun to have the consciousness to dig deeply. Therefore, we even tried the methods of laser engraving before oxidation, exposure and development, not carving oxide film, etc. to make laser engraving with color. It was also after this ordeal that I realized that the laser engraving machine not only has red light, but also purple light and green light. When the requirements are low, the red light machine is often done simply and roughly, but the effect of the red light machine carving is a little rough and often yellow. So in the end, we chose the purple light machine, not carving through the oxide layer, and keeping the color of anodizing. What's interesting? At last, I found that Apple had already done this kind of craft on the APPLEWATCH I carried with me, and the effect was more delicate and delicate than what I could finally do. There was a time when I became more and more grounded, and it was too easy to compromise correctly for business (this is a strategic problem, not necessarily bad). However, this project has brought me back to my evil "designer thinking" and lost the "common sense" in the mouth of the architecture. I believe that there is nothing that cannot be done. There is no best but better, constantly digging out details and constantly looking for better results.

Two landing projects in two years, it is really good to be able to make products in this depth, and I am especially grateful to meet a supervisor who is willing to teach me and trust me.

As newcomers, "obedience" is actually quite important, because we are often the group of people on the peak of ignorance, and we can try to trust people who are better than us to do it again. Although looking back now, some decisions may not be right, but more is the correct guidance to refresh my cognition and vision.

High requirements are really too important for the growth of designers. The requirements and standards are different, and the workload can be said to be doubled, but without extreme requirements, we may always be at the passing level.
