In the era of mass tourism, consumers hope to bring cultural and creative derivatives to relatives and friends with cultural specificity and story emotion. At present, there are many kinds of tourism products in the Forbidden City, but there are very few products that can really meet the needs of mass consumption. Under such an opportunity, the Forbidden City hopes to work with Rococo cultural and creative design team to innovate and develop cultural and creative IP symbols exclusive to the Forbidden City and cultural and creative derivatives in line with modern consumer aesthetics.

Through the previous field investigation and visit to the Forbidden City and the analysis of the portraits of tourists, Rococo people sorted out the products of the Forbidden City, integrated and summarized the collections, and used the CBD model to create people through 400 designers in the group. After 52 days, 17 themes and more than 800 products were developed and designed. The Forbidden City cat was born in this way.

After excavating the collections of the Forbidden City and buildings from multiple dimensions and perspectives, it is found that cats can not only repel rat damage, but also cats and butterflies are homophonic with the "octogenarian" that refers to longevity, and are often used as painting themes. Therefore, cats also have auspicious significance and are not only loved by the folk, but also common in the court. Of course, the Forbidden City is no exception. The dynasty passed away and the times changed. To this day, the Forbidden City cat still guards the Forbidden City with a new attitude. Based on this background, the cat of the Forbidden City is abstracted and refined, so that it has the story, inheritance, and corresponding innovation of the Forbidden City, making it more IP-based vitality. Taking the image of the Forbidden City cat as the prototype, develop the corresponding derivative design to make it scene, experience and adaptability.
