Spiral Arches is one of the key pavilions in the Islamic Arts Festival 2016 (Islamic Arts Festival 2016) organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of Sharjah Chief Government in the United Arab Emirates. The pavilion creates an exploratory journey that can experience Islamic history, culture, and architecture. The design of the pavilion is inspired by the architectural status and historical significance of the arch. At the same time, it tries to explore the iconic and historical horse in Islamic architecture. The evolution of tellurium arches to modern parabolic arches. There are 100 arches in this pavilion, which are arranged to form an 88-meter corridor, leading visitors from the outside to the spiral corridor to the central garden. From the pointed arch with perfect arc to the ancient and representative, the first horse tellurium-shaped arch designed and built by Muslims. The garden center is set up with fountains as the original form of art works to represent the center of the exhibition hall and the origin of the entire journey. The spiral pavilion is arranged with a hundred arches to integrate the long-standing historical traces of Islamic arches, in groups of ten, arranged in historical order, including horse tellurium arches, semi-dome arches, arc arches, Tudor arches, pointed arches, shoulder flat arches, three-center petal arches, compound arches, onion-shaped arches and parabolic arches. The layout design of the pavilion refers to the design concept of the traditional mosque, so that the entrance and exit of the pavilion allow visitors to face the holy city of Mecca. This unique tradition in Islamic culture is to make everyone who goes to the mosque to worship face the Islamic holy city when entering the mosque and paying homage. The daytime design of the pavilion emphasizes the size, texture and material of the arch. Use LED lights at night to create a time tunnel through Islamic culture. The design purpose of the pavilion is to express respect for the unique Islamic culture, and at the same time inspire a new interpretation, and respond to the 19th Islamic Cultural Festival with the theme of "Bunyan" (meaning: structure, architecture).
