Designers who make products will more or less hear friends, directors or teachers around us say to us, "to do industrial design, we need to know the material, structure, process grinding tools and other knowledge of the product, so as to really do a good job in the product".
But many people don't know from those places to understand these knowledge points, reading those related mechanical books will feel boring.
This time, through my own work experience and study, I summarized the surface processing technology of several common plastic products.
1. case paint
Shell paint is mainly to make the surface of plastic products reflect the feeling of metal material.
Commonly used in: hair dryers, stereos and other electronic products
.
2. rubber paint
As the name implies, after the paint is attached to the surface of the product, the product can be as elastic as rubber in vision and perception.
Commonly used in: mobile phone cases, water cups, cameras and other products.
.
.
3. biting flowers
Bite the flower is through the mold corrosion to produce serpentine, etching and other textures, plastic products through the mold molding, the surface will produce corresponding lines. That is, we often see rough graininess or some special lines on the surface of the product.
Features: non-slip, beautiful,
Commonly used in: mouse, earphone, air conditioner electronic products
.
.
4. spray paint
Let the products present different colors, but many products are adjusted by plastic raw materials.
The following beats earphones are not sure whether they are sprayed with paint or raw material adjustment. Students with strength can scrape the surface with a knife.

.
5. spray UV
UV paint is a transparent paint, also known as UV varnish. UV paint is hard and scratch-resistant, which can protect the product well. In addition, UV paint can also adjust the gloss of the paint to make the product more beautiful.
Commonly used in: air conditioning, television, headphones and other products, the application field is relatively wide.

.
6. logo, text printing/laser carving
The process of logo and text was summarized in detail in the previous article:
"10 Processing Techniques and Expressions of logo in Product Design"
.
.
7. luminous paint
Make the product glow in the dark
Commonly used in: watches, decorations and other products
.
.
8. pearl powder
Pearlescent powder is commonly used in transparent or translucent plastics, making it attractive in color, and is widely used in cosmetic containers, various types of packaging, toys, decorative materials, various films and other plastic products.
Because of its high temperature resistance and non-toxicity, it can also be used in the production of lipstick, eye shadow, foundation, eyeliner and other cosmetics fields.
.
.
In addition, pearlescent coatings are also widely used in automobiles, building materials and other fields to make them appear pearlescent and metallic colors.
